Early Man Fossils Discovered In Liaoning Province. Fossil of hyena's front tooth, 2.1 cm high and 0.9 cm side. Hyena, a carnivorous mammal, is as big as dog with hair-covered neck. The animal has become extinct in Asia, but still exists in Africa. The unearthed incisor is of value in judging the epoch of these finds. Photo by Xiao Ye
