Porcelain basin with polychrome painting of human figures and a Wan Li reign mark. The polychrome painting inside the basin illustrates the fondness of Wang Hsi-chih, a famous ancient calligrapher, for white geese. An inscription on the base reads: "Made in the reign of Wan Li of the Great Ming". Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1368-1644). D. 36.7 cm. Unearthed in 1964 in the Chaoyang District, Peking.
