Bronze ox-shaped wine vessel. It is decorated all over with cloud and kuei dragon designs. The protruding tongue of the ox serves as the spout of the vessel while the tail curls to form the handle. A little tiger standing on the back of the ox doubles up as a knob for the square cover. Western Chou (11th century - 770 B.C.). L. 38 cm. Unearthed in 1967 at Chishan, Shensi Province.
