"Three-Coloured" glazed pottery horse with groom. "Three-coloured" glazed pottery of the Tang Dynasty is noted for its artistic quality. Indeed some of the richly coloured and exquisitely modelled figures of palace girls and horses and camels are among the finest examples of ancient Chinese sculpture. This handsome horse with black glaze is a particularly rare specimen. Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907). H. of the horse: 66.8 cm. Unearthed in 1971 at Loyang, Honan Province.
