Tibet Has Been A Part Of China's Territory From Ancient Times. According to the historical data, in 640 A.D. Songzanganbu, the Tibetan King, sent his minister Iudongzan with gifts to Chang' an (now Xi' an) to ask for a bride for the king. Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty married Princess Wencheng, a girl in the imperial clan, to the Tufan King. This painting, based on this episode, was done by Yan Liben, a famous Tang Dynasty painter. The man sitting on the right is Emperor Tang Taizong and the second man on the left is Ludongzan, the Tufan envoy.
