Old-Fashioned Weaving Method Of Hani Nationality. The old-fashioned hand weaving method is still a salient feature of the handicrafts of the Hani people living in the Mengla Mountain area in the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, Southwest China. The Simple and easy way of weaving produces the home-spun cloth which is durable, though course. All the Hani families living there grow cotton, make tools, produce home-spun cloth to make their favorable costumes. With a wooden single-shuttle loom a Hani woman can weave 10.94 feet of plain cloth each day. Photo by Zhou Zhongyao
