Man Kam To Porters' Another Heroic Fight Compels Hongkong-British Officials To Apologize For Treachery. In the August 5 guarantee, British authorities at Man Kam To promised to protect the big-character posters put up by the Chinese porters. But on the evening of August 9 they stealthily tore down the posters and slogans reading "Long live Chairman Mao!" and "Down with British Imperialism!" previously posted by the porters. The British authorities also put up barbed wire obstacles that made traffic at the head of the Man Kam To bridge, an import-export trading locals, difficult. On hearing that, the Chinese porters went to the Man Kam To British Police Station with big-character posters to argue it out with the British officials.
