White porcelain pot in the shape of a boy reading book. The round opening of the pot is located at the centre of the lotus-shaped hat worn by the boy while a square opening at one end of the book scroll held in the hands of the boy serves at the spout. The handle is located on the back of the boy. Liao Dynasty (A.D. 916-1125) H. 27 cm. Unearthed in 1963 at Shunyi, Peking.
