Shang Dynasty tomb with sacrificed slaves at Yitu, Shantung Province. In 1966, a Shang Dynasty (c. 16th - 11th century B.C.) slave-owner's tomb excavated at Yitu, Shantung Province, was found to contain as 48 sacrificed slaves. It gives a keen insight into the ruthless oppression of slaves by-slave-owners in the slave society.
