Porcelain flask with phoenix decoration. Blue-and-white. The upper part of the flask is decorated with a flying phoenix. The raised head of the phoenix serves as the spout of the flask while its tail curls up to form the handle. The lower part of the flask is adorned by a brightly coloured peony scroll. This is a fine specimen of the Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelains. Yuan Dynasty (A.D. 1271-1368). H.18 cm. Unearthed in 1970 at Peking.
