Travels Into Baima Commune of Pingwu County, Sichuan Province. An ethnic group comprising more than 10,000 people live in compact community in an area that borders on the counties of Pingwu and Nauping in Sichuan Province and Wenxian County of Gansu Province. It was once called Baima Tibetan nationality in the early years of liberation, but their way of life and customs greatly differ from those of the Tibetan people. The majority of them do not believe in Lamaism, but worship nature. They do not celebrate Tibetan new year, but take Spring Festival as their most important festival. They don't eat yak butter, barley flour, brick tea, but prefer meals cooked with flour and vegetables and noodles made of wheat and bean flour. They like to drink honey liquor of home make. The following photos were taken in Baima Commune of Pingwu County where the Tibetans live in compact community.
