Sugar Refining Season Begins In China. Kwangtung Province, China's leading sugar producer, gathered a bounteous sugar cane harvest in 1973. Here boatloads of sugar cane are being unloaded at the pier of the Hsunteh Refinery for crushing. At present, more than 100 sugar refineries in the province has begun processing canes.
