First Blast Furnace Fired At Baoshan Plant. Song Ping (1st, L), Minister in charge of the State Planning Commission, ignited on Sept. 15 the No.1 blast furnace of the Shanghai Baoshan Iron and Steel Complex. China's biggest blast furnace which can produce 10,000 tons of iron per day.
