China Speeds Up Industrial Construction. An up-to-date rolling mill project which consists of a continuous casting shop, a hot rolling mill, a cold rolling mill and a silicon steel sheet mill has been basically completed at the Wuhan Iron and Steel Company, one of China's leading metallurgical centres. It has rollers up to 1.7 metres wide and a designed capacity of 3 million tons of sheet steel a year. Equipment for the four mills was imported from West Germany and Japan.
