Petro-Chemical Industrial Base In Panjin. Liaohe oilfield which was built in Panjin, a dried-up plain along the Bohai Gulf three years ago has become another petro-chemical industrial base in northeast China after the Daqing oilfield. Located in the saline-alkali field between the cities of Yingkou and Jinzhou in Liaoning Province, the Liaohe oilfield produces 5 million tons of crude oil and 17 billion cubic metres of natural gas annually. The oil and gas produced here are transported to Anshan Iron and Steel Company and other factories and mines, and also used as raw materials by the large-sized chemical fertilizer plant in Liaohe oilfield.
