Great Yangtze Stream Dammed At Gezhouba. Builders of China a biggest multi-purpose water conservancy project on the Yangtze succeeded in stemming the turbulent river on January 3 and 4. It took 36 hours and 23 minutes to fill the 210-metre gap in which the flow was 4,720 cubic metres per second. The scheduled time was 13 days.
