Chinese Workers Hasten Pace Of Industrial Construction. A big modern opencut coal mine - the Tafeng coal mine - went into production in 1973 in northwest China's Ningsia Hui Autonomous Region. The new mine brings up Ningsia's production capacity of anthracite 30 percent. The high-quality coal it produces is needed by chemical industry. Here an electric shovel shifts coal onto wagons.
