Zhoushan Islands - A Main Fishing Ground In China. The sea area around the Zhoushan Islands in Zhejiang province, east China, is abundant in aquatic resources. There are about 40 kinds of marketable fish. During the fishing season, fishermen from different directions converge on the famous fishing ground. Its output accounts nearly for 10 percent of the country's total catch. Beside fishing, aquatic products cultivation and processing fish industries in the Zhoushan Islands are now growing fast. The archipelago, called "a continet in the Sea" in ancient times, consists of some 670 islets and is the largest in China.
