0228 - Bronze figures of horses, mounted warriors and models of chariots. I...Front
Bronze figures of horses, mounted warriors and models of chariots. In 1969, a large Eastern Han tomb was found at Wuwei, Kansu Province, bringing to light an impressive number of bronze figures of horses, mounted warriors armed with spears, Chi-halberds and axes, and models of chariots. Apart from showing the pompousness of an Eastern Han feudal official's procession when he went on excursion, they also attest to the high level attained by the bronzesmith's art of the time. Easter Han (A.D. 25-220). H. 39 to 53 cm. Unearthed in 1969 at Wuwei, Kansu Province.
