Blue-and-white covered vase with underglaze red decoration The blue decorations are slightly on the dark side. The knob of the cover is in the shape of a lion. The decoration on the belly is dominated by four sets of openwork and relief designs in underglaze red framed by a double-ridged lobed border. It is a very rare specimen among the porcelains of the Yuan Dynasty. Yuan Dynasty (A.D, 1271-1368). H. 42.3 cm. Unearthed in 1964 at Paoting, Hopei Province.
