Leather-Cut Pictures --- China's New Handicraft Of Art. Leather-cut pictures, a new form of handicrafts art developed by the Shanghai Leather Research Institute, is now offered for sale. Leather-cut pictures are made of coloured sheepskin, snakeskin, pigskin, cattlehide and chicken's foot skin. The leather-cuts are arranged and pasted on cardboard. With the different textures of the skins, the pictures convey a good sense of depth and substance. They have a distinctive style in depicting animals, flowers stones and human figures.
