Tibetan People Celebrate New Year. A Tibetan waitress of the Lhasa Hotel serves guests with a five-cereal Dou (a unit of dry measure for grain) to celebrate the New Year. February 18 was the start of the five-day celebrations, of the Earth Dragon Year by the Tibetan calendar. The five-cereal Dou symbolizes abundant harvest of all crops. Photo by Ma Jingqiu.
