Tibetan Town At The Source Of Yangtze River. Jiegu, the predominantly Tibetan mountain town on the southern bank of the Tongtian River, the head of the Yangtze, in south Qinghai Province, northwest China, has been little known to outside world for its outlying position. The Jiegu Monastery on a hill top adds a mysterious touch to the township. The stone carved Buddha images and local woodblock and stone engravings are all unique craftwork.
