Historical Site In Sichuan Reopened. "San Su Ci", the famous memorial hall for the three great writers of Su Xun and his two sons Su Shi and Su Zhe of the Northern Song dynasty (960- -1127 A.D.), has been reopened to both Chinese and foreign visitors after a recent renovation. Situated in Meishan County of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, "San Su Ci" was a residence of the three celebrated writers. During the years of Hongwu reign (1368- -1398 A.D.) of the Ming Dynasty the residence was rebuilt into a memorial hall in commemoration of the three writers. The succeeding renovations and expansion have made the place more attractive. Among the three writers Su Shi (1037- -1101 A.D.), whose poetic name was Dongpo Hermit, was a versatile writer in the history of Chinese literature. Being good at poetry, prose, calligraphy and painting, he was known as one of the famous "eight great writers of the Tang and Song dynasties". His father Su Xun and his younger brother Su Zhe were all well-known prose writers of the Northern Song dynasty.
