New Southern Sinkiang Railway Under Construction. China is building the first railway line in the southern part of the Sinkiang Uighur Autonomous Region. Starting from Turfan County neary Urumchi City, the capital of the region, the 474-kilometre-long railway winds through the Tienshan Mountains and ends in the booming industrial town of Kurle in the south of Sinkiang.
