China Succeeds In The Study Of New Laser Aid. A high-powered laser aid, which was developed by the Shanghai Optical Machinery Research Institute, passed state assessment and went into formal operation on June 27 this year. Called "Shenguang" or "Magic light", the aid is made up of 80 precision meters, instruments and equipment items. It has an output power of one billion kw, and a luminescent time of one-1,000,000,000th to one-10,000,000,000th of a second. This new technique achievement marks that the study of high-powered laser and laser nuclear fusion in China has come up to the international advanced level.
