Mao Tse-Tung's Thought Guides Chinese Scientists In Surveys Of Mount Jolmo Lungma. The members of the scientific expedition carry out their survey and investigation work on Mount Jolmo Lungma with the revolutionary enthusiasm sparked off by the great proletarian cultural revolution. They are determined to go on discovering, inventing, creating and advancing in the struggle for production and scientific experiment with a view to overtaking and surpassing the world's advanced scientific and technical levels, and making still greater contributions for the people of the motherland as well as the people of the world. The scientific workers in solar radiation obtained in extremely difficult conditions invaluable first-hand information at altitudes from 5,000 to 7,000 metres above sea level on Mount Jolmo Lungma that far surpassed the 1963 data U.S. imperialist elements surreptitiously obtained from the southern slope at below 6,000 metres. With the obtaining of these data, China has occupied her own position in the sphere of the research of high-altitude solar radiation. Photo shows members of the scientific expedition making a study of solar radiation at a place 6,300 metres above sea level.
