Meteorite Shower, Unusual In Size In World History, Falls In Northeast China. Scientific workers survey the big crater formed by the largest meteorite of the shower as it fell to the ground in the Kaoshan Production Brigade of the Huapichang Commune in Yungchi County, Kirin Province. The meteorite broke through a 1.7-metre thick layer of frozen soil, sank 6.5 metres deep into the ground and formed a crater with a diameter of over two metres.
