The scientific experiment station set up on the eastern fringe of Tengri Desert in northwest China by the Institute of Glaciology, Cryopedology and Deserts has successfully grown wheat, sorghum, maize, cotton, soyabean, peanut as well as peach, apricot, grape and other fruit on soil reclaimed from the desert.
