P.L.A. Medical Workers Help With Medical Service In Countryside. Acting on Chairman Mao's instruction "In medical and health work, put the stress on the rural areas", the medical workers of a Chinese P.L.A. unit stationed in Kirin Province, northeast China, have shown warm concern for the medical services in nearby villages. They train barefoot doctors for them and join in prevention and treatment of diseases among commune peasants. A joint medical team composed of medical workers of a P.L.A. unit and local barefoot doctors gives treatment at a peasant's home.
