Good Curative Effect Of Infantile Paralysis In East China City. Fiftyone-year-old Kang Yingzone, a surgeon of the Zhoucun District Hospital at Zibo City, Shangdong Province, east China, has performed orthopaedic operations on 4,560 infantile paralytics from all parts of China in the past 9 years and achieved curative effect in varying degrees. Those who crept and moved forward with their knees can now walk with the aid of crutches, and those who could not walk steadily can now carry things on their shoulders or Pull carts. Dr. Kang is a graduate from the Shanghai No. 1 Medical College in 1955. The sufferings of those disabled victimized by infantile paralysis aroused sympathy and a sense of responsibility in Kang Yingzong and led him to the study of orthopaedics. Kang worked out proper operation programmes in line with the patients' muscle strength. Steps and malformation to achieve the best curative effect with the least possible damage to the patients. According to 4,000 clinical cases the curative effect is most notable for those ranging from 8 to 20 years old.
