Thriving East China Islands. Eighty one-year-old fisherman Wang Shou-chien, who is enjoying a retired life, was imprisoned in a nearby desolate islet with his younger son Wang Chi-cnang by the Kuomintang reactionaries on the eve of Tachen's liberation, while the other 11 members of his family were forced to Taiwan. Right after Tachen's liberation they were saved by the P.L.A. men.
