Remains of a Neolithic village at Panpo, Sian. Located in the eastern suburbs off Sian, Shensi Province, the site of Panpo belongs to a Middle Neolithic village about 6,000 years ago and extends over an area of about 50,000 square metres. Between 1954 and 1957, excavations conducted over an area of 10,000 square metres brought to light nearly 10,000 artifacts. Picture here shows only a part of the whole site.
