Waking good use of local plums, farmers at Dongyang township in Dongyang County, Zhejiang Province, has run a plant to produce preserved fruit for export. Over 300 tons of such products, "jiayingzi" as it is called, produced in 1984, with an annual output value of a million yuan, all exported to Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and the United States.
