East China County Makes Remarkable Results In Tree Planting. Yanzhou County of Shandong Province, one of the advanced units in forestry in China, has achieved remarkable results in planting trees. For five years, people in Yanzhou County have planted 250 --- million trees. Now, the county's 1,674 roads, and --- 300 canals and rivers have been lined with trees, --- tending more than 8,000 kilometers. 30 million trees are kept in reserve with an average of 80 trees for each farmhand. The vegetation coverage reaches 14.7 per cent this year wereas only 6 per cent in 1974. The development of forestry has not only promoted the development of agriculture, animal husbandry and fruit production but has also raised the living standards.
