Paradise For Aged In Shanghai--Teahouse In Ancient Temple Garden. The mid-lake pavilion in Yuyuan, an ancient temple garden, is the most popular teahouse in Shanghai. Many old people haunt the teahouse to while the time away by meeting old friends over a cup of tea. Built for enjoying lotus flowers over 300 years ago in the Ming Dynasty, the mid-lake pavilion was said to have become a teahouse for more than a hundred years. Now it has marked the seats exclusively for the aged. While sipping tea and enjoying the picturesque scenery of Yuyuan Garden, the old folks talk about their families and the world affairs. A good natter in the teahouse makes the old forget all of their worries. Music lovers share their feeling by playing their familiar "Bamboo Melodies South of the Yangtze River" with the musical instruments they bring to the teahouse. A nine-turn zigzag bridge leads to the mid-lake pavilion Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai.
