China Selects 10 Best Athletes Of 1983. Luan Jin, 26, a badminton player from Fujian Province. Luan captured the men's singles title at the All-England Badminton Championships after defeating world star morten Frost of Denmark in 1983, and he was the first Chinese to win the title. He then proved his worth as the world's ace player when he won the men's singles title at the Grand Prix Badminton Tournament last December in Jakarta, Indonesia, after outplaying world stars Liem Swie King of Indonesia and Prakash Padukone from India.
