China's Navy Submarine Academy. In Qingdao, Shandong Province, there is a school which trains commanders and other personnel for the submarine troop of the Chinese Navy. This is the Navy Submarine Academy. This academy was founded in the 1950's and has a Conventional Submarine Department, Nuclear-powered Submarine Lifesaving Department, laboratory and coast training centre. At the present time, there are 2000 undergraduate and graduate students at the academy.
