Prof. Wang Si-li (Shelley Wang) and the Earl of Listowel in a C.C.C. Poster Parade Spring 1938. Listowel was President of the CCC and Wang Si-Li who had been associated with the Kuomintang 19th Route army which in defiance of orders the resistance to the Japanese attacks on Shanghai in January 1932and later when withdrawn to Fukien revolted against Chiang in 1934 and tried to establish ... with the Red Army in the Soviet area. The revolt was crushed and Wang Si-li came here as an exile. Among the Chinese community it was one of the leading supportive of CCC. Later, returning to China to help in resistance to the Japanese he was reported killed at Chiang's orders.
