First Judge From P.R.C. In International Court. Legal counsel to the Chinese Foreign Ministry Ni Zhengyu was elected on Nov. 7 a judge to the International Court of Justice. Ni is the first judge from the People's Republic of China in the organization and one of the five prominent figures in International Law and Diplomacy elected on Nov.7 in the first ballot at both the U.N. General Assembly and the Security Council. The newly-elected members will take office on February 6, 1985, in the Hague, the seat of the court. Photo by Liu Yu
