Soong Ching Ling, Honorary Chairman Of People's Republic Of China. In September 1949, Comdrade Soong Ching Ling attended the First Plenary Session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing as a specially invited representative. At the meeting she was elected Vice Chairman of the General People's Government of the People's Republic of China.
